Through multiple techniques, Canosa explores the boundaries of language, crafting complex narratives. Her interests in cultural identity, memory, interpersonal relationships, displacement, and migration shape a subjective cartography. Her works create a continuous tension between sign and metalinguistic elements, between reference and metaphor. Although her work is connected to drawing and painting, from the 1990s onward, she developed an installation grammar in which she arranges her pieces in space as "expanded painting." Her body of work systematically embraces transversal and hybrid aesthetics.
